We have released the updated presentation material introducing Tohoku University Gateway College (GwC), set to launch in 2027 under Japan’s First University for International Research Excellence initiative. This document provides an overview of GwC’s features, including its expansion from the FGL program into a broader interdisciplinary degree program taught in English, academic pathways across 10 faculties, and an outline of the admissions process.

Program Evolution: Transitioning from FGL to GwC to offer comprehensive degree options across 10 faculties.

Late Specialization: A flexible curriculum allowing students to explore broad fields before choosing from 5 academic tracks.

Enrollment & Cohort: Spring & Fall 2027 entry (~180 students/year; ~50% domestic, ~50% international).

Admissions Outline: Overview of Spring (Term I) and Fall (Term II) selection processes.
