In April 2027, Tohoku University—the first institution selected as a University for International Research Excellence—will establish “Tohoku University Gateway College.” This college will serve as a hub for new undergraduate education, featuring a special educational program with the participation of all university faculties.

Gateway College provides an “Intercultural Collaborative Learning” environment where students from diverse cultural backgrounds study together in English. In this setting, students will inspire one another, explore a broad range of academic disciplines, and deepen their expertise in their respective fields. Students at Gateway College will choose their own paths based on their interests and dreams, carving out their own futures.

Guided by the principles of “Immersion,” “Inquiry,” and “Innovation,” we aim to cultivate:

　Creative thinkers and innovators capable of tackling global challenges.

　Individuals who understand the value of diversity and possess a global perspective.

　Future leaders with a strong passion for research and excellence.
